# Luminance

> Luminance is a Contract Intelligence platform that uses proprietary legal AI to turn contract portfolios into actionable insight — helping enterprise Legal, Finance, Procurement, Sales, HR and Executive teams negotiate smarter, surface risk, and keep contracts moving.

Founded by researchers from the University of Cambridge, Luminance's mission is to make every contract work harder by transforming contractual language into business intelligence accessible across the whole organization. Its core AI model, Luna, is trained specifically on legal language, contractual structure, and the relationships between clauses, obligations and commercial terms — rather than relying on a general-purpose LLM.
