Luminance launches eDiscovery product to assist with litigation, as market-leading platform celebrates two years since launch 3 October 2018 | Product Launch
Luminance, the leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal profession, has released Luminance Discovery, the company’s latest offering to assist lawyers in investigations and eDiscovery.
Following rapid growth in the M&A due diligence and in-house compliance spheres, Luminance has expanded its platform to include ‘Discovery’, a tool designed to offer litigators unparalleled speed in coding and reviewing documents. “In applying the latest developments in machine learning to Luminance Discovery, we are able to offer lawyers a really efficient approach to investigations, allowing them to manage and sort huge volumes of data quicker than ever before,” explained Kimberley Davies, Head of Discovery at Luminance.
The platform’s Deep Coding abilities mean that Luminance Discovery actively learns from the decisions made by the litigator throughout the review process. In this way, the platform is constantly improving its understanding of the documents it encounters, resulting in significant time savings whilst never forcing the lawyer to relinquish any decision-making control to the machine. The Discovery product is gaining steady traction and is already used in litigation in Europe and the US.
“We are bringing the trademark benefits of Luminance to the eDiscovery market,” commented Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance. “Our Discovery tool is intuitive, offering a clean and interactive user interface which makes data room visualisation simpler than ever. By deploying an uncomplicated technological solution to investigations, litigators are going to see a real difference to how much more effectively they can work from the outset.”
Luminance uses the latest advances in machine learning and pattern recognition technology, developed at the University of Cambridge, to improve the efficiency of processes such as due diligence, compliance reviews, contract management and now eDiscovery. The platform learns from the interactions between lawyers and documents, offering a faster and more comprehensive approach to review.
