Luminance Product Pulse: Bringing more context and deeper insight into all contract workflows
Holly Neille, Product Manager
Contract decisions rarely depend on the agreement alone. Teams also need to consider the wider context – external developments, legal authority, commercial priorities and rationale, and more.
Luminance does exactly that. Our latest product updates bring that context directly into the Luminance Platform, so teams can make better-informed decisions without leaving the contract workflow.
Here, we run through our latest product updates and how they make it easier for enterprise teams to understand the impact of external context, analyze patterns across the contract portfolio, explain the rationale behind proposed changes and explore portfolio insights to find agreements that need attention.
Bring external context into the contract workflow
External Sources combines your organization’s Contract Intelligence with curated, configurable legal research, web search, and LexisNexis Protégé, all without leaving Luminance.
Ask Lumi to search curated, configurable sources to investigate legal questions, counterparty activity, market developments, or regulatory changes, and receive cited answers directly within the contract workflow.
Cited findings can then be applied to inform negotiations, portfolio reviews, and playbook decisions, helping teams make faster, better-informed decisions with greater confidence.

Bring commercial reasoning directly into every redline
Identifying a change is one part of a negotiation. Explaining why it matters helps make your position clear to the counterparty.
Lumi can now generate counterparty-facing comments directly within Word that explain the commercial rationale behind proposed redlines. Users can work conversationally with Lumi to communicate the business’s negotiating position with less manual drafting.

Find the agreements that need attention
Lumi can now help users explore, review, and filter the results of a Deep Insights report. Ask questions across the full report dataset to compare contractual positions, surface recurring risks and understand how provisions vary across your portfolio.
With Lumi, you can then use those findings to prioritize the contracts that warrant further review and explain why they matter. This helps teams investigate trends and identify the agreements that need attention most.
