Legal Product Expert: U.S.

Luminance is growing its U.S. team to support rapid growth of its market-leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal industry. Luminance is seeking candidates that want to be part of a growing, innovative business transforming how legal services are delivered.

Our Legal Product Experts (LPEs) develop business, introducing Luminance to new clients, and building on existing relationships. LPEs work closely with lawyers, practice support teams, and technologists to speed adoption of AI and machine learning supporting M&A due diligence, contract compliance, and large real estate transactions. LPEs work from early stage opportunities through deployment and beyond, and represent an integral part of client success.

Luminance works with top legal teams globally, who expect the very best from our work. We set high expectations for candidates, who should be smart, entrepreneurial, and self-driven. Candidates should have academic credentials from top tier universities, and/or impeccable experience working with leading technology firms.

Candidates are expected to possess:

R&D Software Engineer

Luminance is looking for intelligent and enthusiastic individuals with a strong mathematical background to join their R&D team based in Cambridge, UK. As part of a small, dynamic team, successful candidates will be responsible for developing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms capable of understanding and analysing large corpora of written language documents.

Candidates:

  • must hold a good university degree in a technical or scientific subject such as engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics, with a First or 2:1. Post-graduate qualifications would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • should have some experience of writing software, preferably Python, C/C++ or Java.
  • would ideally have experience in machine learning and working with large data sets.

Web Software Engineer

Luminance is looking for talented individuals with a strong interest in web technologies and development to join their development team in Cambridge, UK. As part of a small, dynamic team, successful candidates will be responsible for designing and developing Luminance's cutting-edge document-analysis products. Typical technologies include HTML5, Javascript, Less/CSS and Node.js.

Candidates:

  • must hold a good university degree in a technical or scientific subject such as engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics, with a First or 2:1.
  • should have an aptitude for UI/UX design and be able to demonstrate experience in designing and building interactive web-based applications.
  • would ideally have experience with frameworks such as Backbone.js, d3.js, three.js and jQuery.

DevOps Engineer

Luminance is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in networking and systems to join their development team in Cambridge, UK. As part of a small, dynamic team, successful candidates will be working alongside the developers taking on responsibility for maintaining and monitoring Luminance's mission-critical cloud platform.

Candidates:

  • must hold a good university degree in a technical or scientific subject such as engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics, with a First or 2:1.
  • would ideally have extensive *nix skills and be able to demonstrate experience of managing and maintaining networked systems.
  • would ideally have experience with AWS, HAProxy, ansible, SQL/NoSQL databases and Node.js.
