THE STATE OF CONTRACT INTELLIGENCE
Billion-dollar blind spot
The untapped value of Contract Intelligence across global enterprises
For years, enterprises have invested in digitizing and storing their contracts. The next challenge is making the intelligence within those contracts available to every team that needs it.
The findings, drawn from senior enterprise leaders across the US, UK, France, and Germany, reveal a widespread gap between storing contracts and being able to use the intelligence within them – and the value lost when companies cannot act on commercially important information already held in their agreements.
The report explores:
Access remains limited. Only 21% can immediately access why contract terms were agreed.
Contract knowledge is fragmented. 31% struggle to locate or explain commercial contract details.
Billions remain unexplained. 31% say more than $1 billion in annual contract value has its reasoning held in individuals’ files, emails or personal knowledge.
Decisions are delayed. One in three respondents has missed or delayed a commercial decision because contract information was not accessible.
Contract intelligence remains siloed. 33% must speak to Legal or the contract owner to get the information they need.
