14 March 2023 | Award-winning UK law firm, Fisher Jones Greenwood (“FJG”), has extended its use of Luminance’s next generation AI across its Corporate and Dispute Resolution practices, as the firm seeks to drive efficiencies into legal work against a backdrop of growing data volumes.

For the past five years, FJG has been using Luminance’s machine learning technology to accelerate reviews on executed contracts, ranging from due diligence exercises to the AI-powered analysis of extant documents in eDiscovery and dispute resolution matters.

With Luminance’s AI, FJG has been able to take on high-volume projects previously viewed as unviable due to the amount of time and resource needed. Recently, the firm deployed Luminance to assist with a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) consisting of nearly 80,000 documents. With only one trainee lawyer assigned to the matter, a project of this size would have been impossible to complete in the stipulated time frame under the GDPR. However, Luminance’s powerful data visualisation and filtering tools helped to drastically reduce the size of the dataset, delivering rapid insight and ensuring the review could be completed by just the one trainee lawyer.
