Founded in 1911, Lamberti is a global manufacturer of speciality B2B chemicals operating in North America, Europe, India and Asia Pacific. As part of a wider push towards digital transformation, the company’s legal department sought a technology that would reduce turnaround time of high-volume yet highly standard documents such as NDAs and Purchase Agreements, while driving efficiencies into everyday contracting processes such as workflow allocation. After a thorough trialling process, Lamberti chose Luminance for its ability to bring AI to every touchpoint the business has with its contracts.

Lamberti’s legal team is now using Luminance’s AI to reduce time to market and enhance insight into company best-practices. While negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, the team utilises Luminance’s Traffic Light Analysis functionality which acts like an AI-powered legal “spellchecker”, automatically highlighting risky or non-standard clauses in any contract and providing alternative, acceptable wording from previously agreed contracts. This is allowing the legal team to return revised contracts quickly, confident in the knowledge that all potential risk has been spotted and documents have been brought into line with Lamberti’s gold standards.

Looking ahead, Lamberti will be rolling out Luminance to other business units, empowering non-legal teams such as Procurement, Finance and Sales to independently draft and negotiate compliant contracts, freeing Legal to focus on high priority work and accelerating the company’s drive towards digital transformation.
