May 6th | London Luminance, the pioneer of Legal-Grade™ AI for enterprise, has announced today that it has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade. His Majesty The King approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation as part of the 2026 cohort.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the UK’s most prestigious business honor. It is Luminance’s second Royal accolade, having previously received the Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2019.

The International Trade category awards organizations that have achieved substantial and sustained growth in overseas earnings relative to their size. It recognizes Luminance’s decade of international expansion, whose platform is now used by more than 1,000 enterprises across 70 countries – among them AMD, LG Chem, Koch, BBC Studios, and Total Energies.

Luminance has continued to accelerate its international expansion:

  • Global revenue doubled in 2025 for the second consecutive year
  • US revenue grew 2.5X and now accounts for 44% of global revenue, including the company’s first eight-figure enterprise deal.
  • Headcount grew by more than 40% across offices in the UK, Europe, Australia, and the USA.
  • Luminance processed more than 18M contracts in 2025 in more than 80 languages.

“This is a proud moment for everyone at Luminance,” said Eleanor Lightbody, CEO of Luminance. “Our international growth has been built on one thing: AI that all legal professionals, from big law to enterprise teams, can actually rely on. The King’s Award is a recognition of that and of our talented team that made it possible.”

Luminance’s international reach is backed by a decade of product investment and founded with the single goal to build AI that reads, reasons about and acts on legal documents at the standard practicing lawyers require. Its AI has been trained on more than 220M verified legal documents across jurisdictions, giving it a precision that general-purpose models cannot replicate.

Luminance has continued to innovate in 2026, launching a series of product updates. In January it launched institutional memory architecture, which retains negotiation history and legal decision-making across an entire enterprise contract portfolio; and in April it partnered with LexisNexis to create the largest body of legal and commercial intelligence ever assembled in a single AI workflow.
