Luminance has been selected as one the World Economic Forum’s ‘Technology Pioneers’. Each year, the World Economic Forum recognises early to growth-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and innovations, and are poised to have a significant impact on business and society.
Luminance was founded by a group of mathematicians from the University of Cambridge in 2015 and now deploys its AI solution to over 150 law firms and organisations across 40 countries worldwide. The software is able to read and understand contracts, allowing lawyers to cut through time-intensive document review up to 85% more quickly than they would manually, freeing them to spend more time advising clients.
Following its selection as Technology Pioneer, CEO of Luminance, Emily Foges, will attend the Annual Meeting in Davos, in January 2020, and continue to contribute to Forum initiatives over the next two years.
This year’s Tech Pioneers are emerging innovators from a diverse set of industries. These innovative companies are shaping the future by advancing technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, blockchain, biotechnology and many more. The diversity of these businesses extends to their leadership as well, as 25% of 2019 Tech Pioneers are female led. Luminance is proud to be part of this, with a female CEO and a leadership team that is over 85% female.
Luminance joins notable Technology Pioneers including Airbnb, Google, Kickstarter, Mozilla, Palantir Technologies, Spotify, TransferWise, and Twitter.
“We’re excited to welcome Luminance to this year’s innovative class of technology pioneers,” says Fulvia Montresor, Head of Technology Pioneers at the World Economic Forum. “ Luminance and its fellow pioneers are leaders in using novel technologies to transform their industries. We see great potential for these next generation companies to shape solutions to global challenges and improve society for years to come.”
“We are extremely proud to be acknowledged as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum,” commented Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance. “It is recognition of our achievement in the field of artificial intelligence for lawyers. Our technology has enhanced the lives of thousands of lawyers across the world and we look forward to contributing to the Forum dialogues on the transformation of the legal industry.”
