Luminance’s Diligence platform more powerful than ever with new version release

10 March 2020 |

Luminance, the leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal profession, has today announced a dramatic upgrade to its due diligence product after integrating a suite of newly-developed features, uniquely available to Luminance.

Updates to Luminance’s Diligence product include tools for model document and clause comparison and advanced clause analysis. Now, when reviewing a document or clause in Luminance, users can choose their ‘model’ – the standard from which all others are compared. After running an extra layer of analysis over documents and clauses, Luminance identifies which clauses or documents are anomalous against the model in terms of their wording.

Updates to this version of Luminance will also allow users to identify the various forms of relevant provisions that are present across the data set, clustering them for quick review. Percentage similarity and textual comparison highlight key similarities in one step. Further enhancements include the ability to batch review provisions with a single click, presenting vast time savings for legal professionals.

These new features will be particularly useful in situations such as marking a contract as a model against which all others within the data set are compared, or quickly checking for compliance with corporate policy. Such functionality sees Luminance as the most powerful technology for document review on the market.

Luminance uses a combination of supervised and unsupervised machine learning and has seen rapid growth since its launch in 2016, with the technology in use in over 215 law firms and organisations. The Diligence product is commonly deployed to assist legal professionals in a variety of situations including M&A due diligence, and reviews of contracts, real estate leases and regulatory compliance.
