Luminance Earns Award for ‘Best Cloud Automation Solution'

20 November 2020 |

20 November 2020- Luminance, the leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal profession, today announced that it has been named the ‘Best Cloud Automation Solution’ by the Computing Cloud Excellence Awards 2020. This comes at a point where many of Luminance’s customers are using its powerful cloud-based machine learning platform to support remote-working lawyers to complete quick and thorough reviews across a range of legal practice areas including M&A due diligence, property portfolio analysis, insurance underwriting and eDiscovery.

The Cloud Computing Excellence Awards, presented by Computing magazine, recognises companies that have most effectively used hosted environments to bring value to end customers. As a cloud-first business, Luminance allows users secure access from any location. This has been critical during the pandemic with world-leading firms such as Dentons turning to Luminance to identify force majeure clauses and leading London barristers’ chambers, The 36 Group, using Luminance to coordinate a 20-person team for a historic murder investigation. In fact, Luminance has seen a 30% uptake in adoption of its technology since the start of 2020 and currently has over 250 customers.

Luminance’s machine learning immediately reads and forms an understanding of legal data, instantly surfacing crucial information such as document type, clauses, languages, currencies and anomalies on a graphic visual display. This allows reviewers to start their review in the most logical, efficient way possible, confident that they are fully appraised of the contents of the document sets.

“We are thrilled to be chosen as the ‘Best Cloud Automation Solution’ by the Cloud Computing Excellence Awards. Since our founding, Luminance has been fully committed to giving our customers a best-of-breed cloud solution and this recognition is an important validator of our success and continued innovation” says Dr James Loxam, CTO at Luminance. “With the majority of lawyers now working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Luminance’s advanced cloud-based technology is essential, allowing firms to seamlessly analyse their vast datasets, collaborate with colleagues and deliver high-quality, effective legal counsel from their new home environments.”

Luminance is currently used in over 50 countries and in more than 80 languages worldwide. Luminance combines supervised and unsupervised machine learning to help lawyers perform that most rapid and thorough legal analysis and has been used to support processes such as M&A due diligence, regulatory compliance, lease property portfolio review and eDiscovery.
