12 July 2022 | Luminance, the world’s most advanced AI for the legal processing of contracts and documents, today announced that it will be joined by leading Australian law firm, Gilbert + Tobin, for a virtual fireside chat at this year’s TechLaw.Fest in Singapore.

The discussion with Caryn Sandler, Partner & Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer at Gilbert + Tobin, will focus on how AI is enhancing and expediting a range of contract review projects across the award-winning firm, from due diligence exercises prior to mergers and acquisitions to large-scale real estate transactions. Those attending TechLaw.Fest can hear first-hand how legal teams are leveraging next-generation technology to navigate an increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscape, enabling effective legal triage, streamlined workflow management and automated service delivery.

With customers including one quarter of The Global Top 100 law firms such as White & Case and Holland & Knight, all of the ‘Big Four’ professional services firms and multinational organisations including Ferrero and Avianca Airlines, Luminance’s AI has become a key component of law firms’ and companies’ innovation strategies over the last five years. Kenneth Lie, Luminance’s Regional Director for APAC, will be hosting several in-person roundtable sessions, bringing together different perspectives from across the in-house and private practice community. The discussions will explore the growing role of AI in helping lawyers to quickly respond to incoming claims and questions, ensure the best negotiation position for clients and drive profitability against a backdrop of exploding data volumes, global regulation, and efficiency pressures.

Ahead of TechLaw.Fest, a spokesperson for Gilbert + Tobin commented: “At Gilbert + Tobin we use Luminance for both vendor and bidder due diligence exercises, among other use cases. We have been using Luminance since 2017, training the algorithm to ensure greater accuracy in reporting. Luminance enables us to gain almost immediate insights into large data sets through powerful visualisation based on key characteristics such as document and clause types, currencies, and governing law. We trust Luminance’s advanced technology and greatly value the way it supports and enhances the role of our lawyers.”

Kenneth Lie, Luminance’s Regional Director for APAC, added: “As well as dealing with the implications of the global pandemic, legal professionals in the APAC region also find themselves grappling with exploding volumes of legal content and enhanced regulatory thresholds. AI has become a must-have for any forward-thinking law firm or business, so I am delighted that Luminance will be bringing the perspective of one of our innovative and highly valued customers to TechLaw.Fest 2022.”

Luminance will be hosting a number of roundtable discussions and live product demonstrations during TechLaw.Fest 2022. To attend or schedule a meeting with a representative from Luminance, email [email protected].
