Luminance Awarded ‘Best AI in Legal Tech’

14 February 2017 |

Luminance, a pioneer of artificial intelligence for the legal industry, has been named Best AI in Legal Tech by the Global Annual Achievement Awards for Artificial Intelligence.

Luminance uses a unique blend of supervised and unsupervised machine learning to automatically read, compare and analyse the contents of a large data room in a matter of hours, giving lawyers an instant view of the size and complexity of the transaction. The technology was developed by a team of Cambridge University PhD mathematicians and harnesses cutting-edge neural networks to spot anomalies and unusual clauses, giving lawyers the ability to prioritise their work more effectively.

Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance, said, 'Four months after launch, we are thrilled to be recognised as a leader in the field of legal AI. The award demonstrates that Luminance is already making waves with its unique offering, as many customers are also discovering.'

The Global Annual Achievement Awards for Artificial Intelligence is now in its second year, and celebrates the achievements of the AI community across a number of different categories and industries. Other winners in 2017 include BT (Best AI for Automation) and Kasisto (Best AI in FinTech).
